FSO Employees and Enthusiasts Club meeting – conversations about the past and future

The history of FSO is above all about people. Yesterday, at Jagiellońska 88, the Employees and Enthusiasts Club of the Passenger Car Factory (FSO) gathered for a meeting.

Over 40 former employees, collaborators and enthusiasts of the historic factory returned to the building of the former management office. More than 30 years ago, important decisions regarding FSO were made there, while this time the atmosphere was filled mainly with conversations, memories and anecdotes.

One of the highlights of the meeting was a presentation of the F.S.O. PARK project and the concept for the redevelopment of the former FSO site. The vision of a new, open part of the city – with a Central Park, extensive greenery and environmentally friendly solutions – received strong interest. An important element of the project is also publicly accessible space, intended not only for future residents of F.S.O. PARK, but also for the local community.

We also received a unique gift – a historic FSO flag with original signatures of people connected with the factory, the last one that was still flying on the mast of the operating plant at the beginning of 1996. It is a symbol that will hold a special place in F.S.O. PARK. We are grateful for this meaningful gesture.

The meeting continued with a visit to the Museum in the Factory, where Maciej Bień took participants on a journey back to the 1980s and 1990s. And afterwards… the conversations went on for quite a long time. It is easy to understand why – some stories simply cannot be told in one afternoon 😊
