On the future of cities and the evolving needs of residents – at the Obiekty Congress 2025.
How can we design spaces that respond to the changing needs of residents and support strong local communities?
These were the questions addressed by Anna Watkowska during the Obiekty Congress 2025, one of the most important real estate events in Poland.
In her presentation, she emphasized that at OKAM, people and their needs are at the core of every project, along with values such as community, education, ecology and healthy living, as well as an understanding of both micro- and macro-level societal changes 👤🌿
Modern cities face growing challenges driven by shifting lifestyles and an aging population. It is becoming increasingly important to integrate work, home and everyday services within one environment, while creating spaces that encourage local community building, intergenerational interaction and support for seniors. At the same time, cities require thoughtful revitalization of existing structures to ensure they serve residents in a comprehensive, friendly and functional way.
OKAM responds to these challenges by designing sustainable living environments that combine housing, services, workplaces and recreational areas. In selected developments, we are also incorporating the principles of the 15-minute city, ensuring residents can access essential amenities within a short walk. We place particular focus on senior living, offering safe, active and socially supportive environments for older residents 👨👩👧👦
Anna’s presentation clearly demonstrated that at OKAM, innovative thinking goes hand in hand with care for people, community and sustainable development.
