A walk with students from the Leon Koźmiński Academy around the former FSO premises.
On November 22, 31 full-time students of Kozminski University and their lecturer discovered the history of the former FSO and learned about the plans for transforming this place into F.S.O. PARK during an educational walk around the former FSO.
The event was organized as part of the “History of Business” coursce, implemented at the University since 2017. The program regularly includes visits to historical places and museums in Warsaw and the surrounding area, allowing students to have direct contact with the industrial heritage of the city and observe the process of its transformation.
Urszula Karczmarczyk – Head of Marketing OKAM City together with Maciej Bień – founder and director of the automotive “Exhibition in the Factory” led a walk during which students learned about both the industrial history of this place and the plans for the transformation of the place – revitalization and giving new functions to the buildings became the focal point of the discussions during this visit.
– During the walk, students could see what the area of the former FSO plant currently looks like, but also familiarize themselves with OKAM’s vision of giving this place a new life. A sustainable, ecological, and most importantly, friendly and open City of the Future will be created here under the F.S.O. PARK banner, which will change this post-industrial area. At the same time, selected buildings or their fragments will undergo revitalization and, as part of the new functionalities, will become an integral part of the investment – says Urszula Karczmarczyk.
The walk route included key points of the former factory: the Main Gate, the Welding Shop, the Assembly Shop, the Press Shop with the characteristic snail and the Paint Shop. In the latter, students could admire an automotive exhibition with over 300 exhibits, including cars manufactured in FSO: Warsaw, Syrenka, Fiat 125p and Polonez, as well as motorcycles, bicycles, fuel dispensers and engines.
We like such meetings, after all, education is one of the main values that were the basis for creating the concept of the F.S.O. PARK Master Plan.
